3.11.83 Mrs. Kate Haston of R.S.S.P.C.C. spoke to the children about the work of the Society and organized a sponsored competition for Pr 3 to Pr 7.
8.11.83 Anna Gillespie of Pr7 won a Gold Medal in the Kanawaga World Art Competition. She was presented with her medal in the school hall by Dr. Michael Kelly, Chairman of the Education Committee. Dr. Kelly was accompanied by Mr.W.Ross Ass. Director of Education, Mr. C. Thompson Ass. Director of Education, Mr. W. Henderson Art Advisor, Mr. James Anderson Regional Councillor and Mrs. Olive Desmond, Art Teacher.

30.3.84 Headteacher Mr. James Wilson leaves the school today after 12 ½ years to be Headteacher of Moray Middle School Grangemouth from April 16th.
Mrs. Agnes Hotchkiss will be Acting Headteacher and Miss Catherine McNeil will be Acting Assistant Headteacher until the vacancy is filled. At a gathering in the school hall Mr. Wilson was presented with the gift of an electric lawnmower by the pupils of the school.

15.5.84 Mr. Duncan, Modern Language Dept. Graeme High talked to P7 pupils today.
18.5.84 Five pupils from P7 took part in the art competition at Kelvingrove Art Gallery. They were accompanied by Mrs. Desmond.
22.5.84 Half of P7 pupils visited Muiravonside Country Park where they studied trees under the direction of Miss A. Finlayson – Senior Ranger. They were accompanied by Mrs. Shanks, Mrs. Blair & Mrs. Hotchkiss.
28.5.84 The Junior Recorder Group took part in a Recorder Festival in Westquarter School. They were accompanied by Mrs. McNeill and Mrs. Kennedy.
31.5.84 P3 and P4 outing went to Edinburgh Airport and Blackness accompanied by Mrs. Hunter, Mrs. Ferrie and their daughters.
Mrs. McNeill visited St. Andrews College of Education prior to starting the Infant Endorsement Course.
3.6.84 The country dance team went to the Country Fair in Muiravonside Country park but were unable to dance because of the inclement weather. Mrs. Spence and Mrs. Hotchkiss supervised the girls.
7.6.84 Four pupils of P7 participated in a relay race for feeder schools at Graeme High School. They were accompanied by Mrs. Blair and Mrs. Murdoch.
9.6.84 The Parents Association held a sale in the school where they raised approx. £280. Staff assisting were :- Mrs. Hotchkiss, Mrs. McNeill, Mrs. Fleming, Miss Gardner, Mrs. Kerr, Mrs. Blair and Mrs. Shanks.. Mrs. Robertson - school help – also assisted.
12.6.84 Dr. Cormack carried out routine examinations and inoculations.
The Senior Recorder Group competed in Falkirk Music Festival gaining fourth place. They were accompanied by Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. McJKerrall.
Several pupils competed in solo recorder playing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place.
13.6.84 Further pupils competed in solo recorder playing. A 2nd place certificate was gained.
P7 outing took place to East Fortune Museum of Flight where they were instructed by Mrs. Thomson. They proceeded to North Berwick for a picnic then swam in the open-air pool. Mrs. Shanks, Mrs. Blair and Mrs. Hotchkiss accompanied the pupils.
